BEXLEY: Rotary club's thanks after Santa visits

Bexley Rotary Club would like to thank the residents of Bexley, Bexleyheath and Welling for once again contributing so generously to its annual Christmas carols fundraising.

However, the club had to cancel the final day of the 12 nightly events which would have seen Santa in the Blendon, Hurst, Dorchester, Howard and Crofton areas.

Santa says a big sorry to those children who missed him this year but his excuse was that the snow was the wrong type to that which he is used to in the North Pole.

Rudolf and the other reindeers didn't help either. They all refused to pull Santa's sleigh along the icy roads quoting the Elves and Safety Act.

Fortunately, both Santa and Rudolf have since confirmed that they will be back next year to help the Bexley Rotary Club.
