A bumper cake sale has raised £528 for the Freddie Farmer Foundation.
The fund-raiser was held on Friday, January 20 at Colfe’s preparatory school in Lee, South East London.
“I knew the school did cake sales on a regular basis and I asked if we could have one for the foundation,” said organiser Katie Chapman, who has two children – Evie and Matthew – at the school.
“Lots of parents made and donated the cakes and we also received some from Sainsbury’s Eltham, who have adopted the foundation as their charity for a year,” said Katie. “The foundation’s campaign for a local physio centre is fantastic. Everyone seems to know about it and it’s really taken off.”
Dawn Bennett, deputy chair of the school’s parents association, said: “We combine charity cake sales with the termly uniform sale and the head, Mr Gallagher, said it was great to support the foundation.
