Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is busy making preparations for its second Mini Marathon, which will take place on Sunday, 27th April in Greenwich Park, two weeks after the Virgin London Marathon. Children between the ages of 7 and 16 can raise funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice by taking part and raising sponsorship.

“We’re calling for 7 – 16 year olds to sign up to the 2.62 mile sponsored run,” said Stacey Lewis, Head of Fundraising at the Hospice.

“Last year our Mini Marathoners were fantastic; they were enthusiastic, energetic and fun, it was an excellent day for everyone involved.”

“We have some great donated prizes for children raising over £100 too, including Waterfront leisure centre memberships and a £75 family meal voucher for Frankie & Benny’s restaurant in Greenwich.”

The Mini Marathon starts at 10am from the bandstand at the top of Greenwich Park.

It is hoped that 500 children will sign up to the event to raise money for their local Hospice.

Registration costs £7.50 per child and all runners will receive a Mini Marathon medal at the finish line. The first 250 children signing up for the Mini Marathon will receive a Frankie & Benny’s Kids Eat Free voucher which is valid for one year. (The voucher is valid for under 11 year olds only).

Special Mini Marathon T-shirts can be purchased in advance for £4.50.

The Mini Marathon is sponsored by Natwest Bank.
