A Thamesmead pub has raised £5,000 for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

Staff at The Cutty Sark pub on Joyce Dawson Way held various raffles throughout the year to raise funds for the Hospice.

Pub owner, Martin Feeney presented the cheque to Augusta Adu, community fundraiser at the Hospice, on October 13th, who thanked staff and customers for their support.

Martin, whose customers support local charities throughout the year, said: “We chose to support Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice because everyone here knows someone who has been lovingly cared for by Hospice nurses and they wanted to repay their kindness.”

Augusta added: "We're absolutely delighted with the amount raised. It just shows what can be achieved when the community comes together. It's a fantastic achievement. We’d like to thank all the patrons of The Cutty Sark Public House for their wonderful support."

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice provides free specialist end of life care for people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as providing support for their families, friends and carers.
