Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice held its annual sponsored cycle ride along the Thames Cycle Path on Sunday 7th October.
Over 400 people registered to take part in what has become the biggest annual charity bike ride to be held across the London Boroughs of Royal Greenwich and Bexley.
The Hospice hopes to raise £15,000 from sponsorship from this year’s event.
Claire Rogers from the Hospice fundraising team said: “It was lovely to see families and friends coming together to support their local Hospice whilst enjoying a fun day out.”
Participants had a choice of three routes along the Thames Cycle Path, which were either 12 or 24 miles long.
The event was supported by Wheelies Cycle Centre in Erith and Sidcup Cycle Centre on Station Road, Sidcup who provided free bike safety checks and mobile workshops to help out cyclists with mechanical problems.
All riders received a commemorative medal for their efforts.
The next big fundraising event for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice will be a ‘Santa Dash’ around Danson Park on Sunday 25th November.
