ORPINGTON Tackle & Bait are holding a Charity Fishing Competition at Greenacres Fishery in Biddenden, Kent on Sunday, September 23.

20 fishermen will compete for trophies based on the total weight of fish caught within six-hours to raise money for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

“My dad Leonard George Bolt was cared for by Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice in 2011, and this is my way of giving something back for the fantastic care that he received,” said organiser Peter Bolt. “My dad was a keen fisherman, he taught me how to fish, and this competition is in honour of his name.”

There are a fixed number of 20 pegs available for the day. The costs are £20 per person in advance. Raffle tickets will also be on sale from Orpington Tackle & Bait priced at one pound a ticket.

All monies and proceeds from the raffle will go to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

An earlier Charity Fishing Competition at Hawkhurst Fish Farm in Hawkhurst, Kent on August 26 raised £523 for the charity.

Anyone wishing to register for the competition and/or donate a prize for the raffle, should contact Peter Bolt on 01689 852 884.
