Bexleyheath woman scoops £2000 in Mid-Summer Draw
11:02am Thursday 5th July 2012 in Community
A Bexleyheath resident has scooped top prize in the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Mid-Summer Draw.
Christine, 62, netted a whopping £2000 in the draw, which was held on June 22.
The mum of two said: “I couldn’t believe it, I told my husband that morning that I was feeling lucky. 20 minutes later I received a call from Lucy (Howe) in the Hospice Lottery team telling me that I’d won £2,000. I was astonished, and still am! My husband and I haven’t had a holiday for a few years so we’ll be able to book something now... we’ll treat our children and grandchildren to a little something too!”
Christine has supported Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice for over 17 years including in the Hospice shops in Northumberland Heath and Pickford Lane and by playing the Hospice lottery.
“Our Mid-Summer Draw has raised over £20,000 for Hospice services,” said Rachel Williams from the Hospice team. “We’re delighted.”
