James Tucker from Hextable and Sean Featherstone from Sidcup have raised £300 for a hospice which cared for their Nan, Shirley Boyle.

James, 22, and Sean, 25, took part in a 5km Santa Run at Greenwich Park on December 4, dressed in giant blow up outfits.

Sean donned a giant inflatable snowman suit and could only take tiny steps because he could only move his feet so far apart, and James was dressed as a giant Santa. It took the pair about one hour to complete.

“We raised around £300 for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice,” said James. “Doing the race was a great experience and the support we received was fantastic. It definitely got us in the Christmas spirit and everyone loved Sean as a snowman! We can't wait to do some more fundraising.”

“We did the Santa Run for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice because our Nan stayed at the hospice, and the care she received was fantastic. She even renewed her vows there.” “Sadly she passed away in August but due to the great care she received and as a big thank you from us all we decided to help raise some money for the charity.”

Stephanie Fuller, Community Fundraising Manager at the hospice, said: “Thanks to the support of local people like Sean and James we are able to continue to provide all of our services free of charge to the people of Greenwich and Bexley. We’re extremely grateful to Sean and James for their support; they looked fabulous!”

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice provides support, care and comfort for local people, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, completely free of charge.
