Christmas is a special time of year for sharing with family and friends, and thinking of those close to us. For many people it is a time to remember those who have died and to celebrate their lives.
The three ‘Light Up A Life’ services organised by Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice give people the opportunity to celebrate the lives of those they have lost and support the work of the Hospice.
The Hospice needs to raise £15,000 this year through its ‘Light Up A Life’ appeal – this will help the Hospice counselling team support more patients and their families this Christmas.
Jane Nelson, Counselling Volunteer at the hospice, said: “Christmas is a time for remembering and celebrating the lives of those who are special to us. The Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice’s ‘Light Up A Life’ dedication and services offer us all a special occasion to remember someone we love.”
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice in Abbey Wood is inviting people to dedicate a light in memory of a loved one or a friend and to join them at one of three services starting from Thursday 8 December.
Everyone is welcome to attend and take part, whether their loved one was cared for by the hospice or not.
Services will be held at: Christ Church, High Street, Eltham Thursday 8th December at 7pm Christ Church, Victoria Road, Erith Friday 9th December at 7pm Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, 185 Bostall Hill, Abbey Wood, London Saturday 10th December at 4.30pm following a Christmas Fair at the Hospice which starts at 2pm.
