26th September 2015 Meet at 10:30am outside the Railway Tavern (opp Bromley North Station)

Free

The walk will last about an hour and a half

Peter Martin of the Bromley Civic Society is leading a walk around the old town of Bromley.

Join us to get a flavour of the town's Victorian heyday, when many buildings in the Arts and Crafts style were built and the young Herbert George Wells was running around getting into scrapes and meeting people that would appear later as characters in his novels.

We hope to make a visit to the 17th Century Bromley College a quiet oasis near to the busy centre. There will also be an update on recent developments and improvements including that on the Royal Bell.

Bromley Civic Society hope this will be the first of a regular series of walks in Bromley Town Centre and elsewhere but we need more walk leaders! If you have an interest in history and your local environment (you don’t have to an expert!) and you would like to get involved in leading these walks in the future then come and join us at 10:30 on the 26th September.

Based on information supplied by Peter Martin.
