An art exhibition at Forest Hill’s Horniman Museum is being put on thanks to crowd funding.
Art lovers bought tote bags, prints and scarfs featuring the work of artist Mark Fairnington over the past eight weeks in order to raise money to put his work on display at the museum.
Collected and Possessed will go ahead in November this year, with Mark’s paintings on show next to the museum’s taxidermy specimens that inspired them.
A total of £9,713 was raised through Art Fund’s Art Happens platform.
Mark said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to this project, it has been fantastic watching your support build over the weeks. I am still working on new paintings and it will be tremendously exciting to open the exhibition.”
