Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice in Abbey Wood, South-East London, is looking for garden lovers in Royal Greenwich and Bexley to open up their gardens for the Hospice this summer.

The second annual Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Open Gardens Festival will be held June 6 – 7 and June 13 – 14.

“Last year’s Open Gardens Festival in Royal Greenwich surpassed all expectations so we’re expanding this year’s festival to the Bexley borough and this year it’ll be held over two weekends,” said Fundraising Manager Sarah O'Halloran.

“We’re calling out to all local gardeners across the whole of the Royal Greenwich and Bexley area, which the hospice charity covers, to get involved. We’d like to see as many different gardens in Royal Greenwich and Bexley showcased this year as possible.”

Last year’s festival in Royal Greenwich was a resounding success with 26 Greenwich gardens raising over £21,000 for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, and this year the hospice fundraisers are hoping for a record-breaking year.

There is no set criteria to take part, gardens sought come from all over Royal Greenwich and Bexley, with all shapes and sizes from the quirky to the sculptural, landscaped to wooded, allotments to the unusual, walled or even prize-winning.
