The Lenny Bolt Cup charity fishing competition on August 31 saw 15 competitors cast off at Hawkhurst Fish Farm in Hawkhurst, Kent in a bid to bring in the heaviest catch.

Organised by Orpington Tackle & Bait owner, Peter Bolt, the event raised £260 for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, a charity close to his heart following the death of his father, who was cared for by the Hospice in 2010.

Second was Mick Powell with 140 lb and coming a close third was match organiser, Peter Bolt with 139 lb. In fourth place was Calum Spencer with 114 lb and in fifth was Grant Finnerty with 96 lb.

The total weight of fish caught on the day was 1073 lb.

The Junior competition was won by Daniel Milford who won a Rovex Reel, donated by one of the competition sponsors.

Peter Bolt’s daughter, six-year-old Lilly, presented the prizes and drew the raffle at the end.

Peter said: “It was a great day. Thank you to all our sponsors and competitors and of course to my brilliant customers, who bought raffle tickets and supported the day.”

All the competitors received a goodie bag and the raffle included fishing-related goodies from competition sponsors Korda, Nash Tackle, Ringers Baits, Total Carp, Spomb, Gardner Tackle, Urban Bait, Dynamite Baits, Sticky Baits, Carr & Borley Groundbaits, Sonic, Rovex, Middy, Copdock Mill, Maver UK, Trakker and NG Floats.
