Hospice staff pushed themselves to the limit last weekend by taking part in a sprint team triathlon event to raise money for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

Lead for Outreach services, Carla Rattigan, Estates Manager Michael Power and Admin assistant, Karen McNamara took part in the London Triathlon, the UK’s biggest and most iconic triathlon, to swim, bike and run around the spectacular London Dockland route over the weekend 2nd – 3rd August.

Karen McNamara said: “We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone for a challenge and fun time. We came 79th out of 155 overall, and in our age category we came 5th out of 24, so I do think we did well as a team. It was an amazing experience.”

Also taking part in the London Triathlon to raise funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice were Johan Kusuma, John Healy and Matt Clare.

Collectively, the participants have raised over £1500 for the Hospice.

Fundraising Coordinator Jane Borrett said: “The London Triathlon is such a great event and the Hospice team were truly inspirational.

“Triathlons are not just for the young and super fit, people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels can take part.”
