Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice has reaped the rewards of a Christmas chocolate amnesty by local Slimming World members.

Dozens of boxes of chocolates, biscuits and sweets have been donated to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice to help support future fundraising activities.

The tasty treats were gathered on 4th January by members of Slimming World groups in Welling, Bexleyheath, Crayford, Erith, Sidcup and North Cray.

The chocolate amnesty started in December with a ‘Christmas Wish’ which stated how much Slimming World members would like to weigh by Christmas.

Community fundraiser, Claire Rogers, said: “When I went to collect the treats, I found out that one Crayford group member reached her weigh-in target on Christmas Eve, and another two members lost a combined four stone four pounds in time for Christmas. It’s a fantastic achievement.

“Some of the tasty treats were donated to Hospice patients but the rest will be used by the fundraising team to help raise vital funds for the Hospice.”
