A GROUP of young students from Conisborough College in Bellingham are leading the way in making a difference for other young students at the school.

The group of students, known as peer leaders, volunteer to support younger members of the school community, under the provision of the Genesis Project.

The peer leaders help younger students as they move into secondary school life.

They hold drop-in sessions for Year 7 students who need a bit of extra support and help supervise in the dining hall at break and lunchtimes.

In the summer term they plan to visit local primary schools to talk to Year 5 and 6 pupils about their move to secondary school.

Who do you know who is Making a Difference to Lewisham? You can nominate them for a Make a Difference award.

Full details of the different categories can be found at lewisham.gov.uk/makeadifference or call 020 8314 8425.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Tuesday May 3 2011.
