NEWS Shopper's campaign to raise money for south London's first children's hospice has raised more than £1,000 in its first month.
Demelza's Capital Appeal campaign to raise £6.5m for a children's hospice to be built in Wensley Close, Eltham, has received a real boost thanks to News Shopper readers.
Cheques totalling £1,285 have been received at News Shopper over the past four weeks.
Groups and individuals in the area have also been organising events to support the hospice's appeal.
Residents of the McCarthy and Stone old people's home in Stannard Court, Catford, took part in a range of fundraising events and hosted a tombola, a bring and buy sale and a book stall to raise £1,000.
Demelza has already raised £1.56m for the appeal.
