Beckenham's MP has visited a renovated Slug and Lettuce following its £270,000 upgrade.

The pub has employed 10 new staff members since its renovation, which includes four new cocktail bars.

Bob Stewart said after seeing the pub’s new look: "The newly revived Slug and Lettuce really improves the facilities on Beckenham High Street.

“It is further revived by a great team who run the place. I went in the old Slug and Lettuce frequently and liked it then but this new version is a much-improved version.

“I will be back more often.”

Area manager Lee Wilson said: “We appreciate Mr Stewart visiting Slug and Lettuce to see the transformation and to meet the local team.

“This investment forms part of our annual £50 million spend developing our pubs across the country providing enhanced community facilities, creating jobs and careers for people of all ages.

“Hospitality is an important business sector generating significant income for government and we are pleased that Mr Stewart recognises the importance of British pubs and bars.”
