Pubgoers can once again pop in for a pint at The Shortlands Tavern this weekend as it has reopened its doors after a fire earlier this month.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to tackle the blaze at the pub in Station Road, close to Shortlands station, on August 9.

The pub has been shut while the smoke damage in the lobby was repaired.

They've been up and running again since Wednesday and manager Jake Greaves is keen to let punters know that the beloved boozer is back in business.

He told News Shopper: "Today is our first full evening open.

"We are now fully operational again."
