Woolwich's Royal Arsenal Riverside development is set to get a new Sainsbury's convenience store next to the Crossrail station.
Developer Berkeley Homes claims the Local store will create around 30 jobs when it opens in 2017.
Located at Cadet House, the 10,000 sq ft shop will be located close to Dial Arch square.
Berkeley's divisional managing director Karl Whiteman said: "We are pleased to welcome Sainsbury’s as the latest business to join us at Royal Arsenal - this is a perfect location for Woolwich and Royal Arsenal residents, creating more choice and providing new jobs locally.
"Our vision is to create more than just exceptional quality homes - we want to create a place with all the amenities and facilities you would need in a thriving community."
When complete, Royal Arsenal Riverside will provide 5,000 new homes plus restaurants, bars, shops and leisure facilities including a gym, pub, restaurants and a four-acre public park.
