AN EVENING dedicated to the king of rock has been held to promote a charity's community club.
The Elvis Tribute Night was organised by the New Legion Club in Green Lane, Chislehurst, to raise awareness about the club's community facilities.
More than 200 people attended the August 15 event with all proceeds going towards the Royal British Legion which provides financial and social support to serving or former members of the armed forces.
Eltham-based Elvis impersonator, Peter Storm, performed a 45-minute set at the club the day before the 31st anniversary of Elvis Presley's death.
Club assistant manager, Jamie Breach, said: "Everyone loved the show but the main aim was to encourage people to become a member of our club which is associated with the legion.
"Members can enjoy the friendly family atmosphere which the club and bar offers as well as discounts on our many day trips."
