RAF gates are being returned to their rightful home more than 15 years after being removed.
It is believed the two sets of gates were moved to a base in Uxbridge when the RAF left Biggin Hill in 1992.
However, with plans to open a heritage centre at Biggin Hill now well under way, it was decided to return the gates. The heritage centre will provide a history of the airfield since its opening in 1916.
Councillor Peter Bloomfield is the chairman of Bromley Council's working party for the heritage centre.
He said: "Plans are now being drawn up for the full planning application for the heritage centre, and the gates can be incorporated into the design."
It is hoped the centre will open in the next two years.
