RELATIVES and friends gathered at a refurbished war memorial to remember those who lost their lives in the Second World War.
A service of dedication saw the unveiling of commemorative plaques for 27 local heroes at St Giles Church, Church Road, Farnborough.
Friends and family of the men were invited for prayers and hymns at the ceremony on May 11, which marked the end of the memorial's £1,250 face-lift.
Memorial committee member Alan Robinson said: "We extend our sincere thanks to all the willing workers and to all who gave very generously to the fund.
"It will be kept open to ensure this outstanding
memorial will be kept in good condition for very many generations to come."
The plaques will appear alongside the names of those who died in the First World War.
