STUDENTS in Bickley have shown off their art work after being inspired by Renaissance artists.
Year 11 pupils, aged 15 and 16, at Bromley High School, Blackbrook Lane, Bickley, displayed work from their GCSE Art and Design course at an exhibition evening.
Their two-year course, taken by 45 students, began in 2006 with a trip to the world famous Uffizi art gallery in Florence, Italy.
The work included drawing, painting, ceramics, textiles and fashion responses to a variety of themes including Banquet and Decay, Safely Contained and Africa.
Head of art, Helen Hopper, said: "Every year the standard seems to be higher than the year before as students become more and more ambitious with ideas and materials.
"This year was no exception and many of the candidates will be going on to study for A level and pursuing a career in the field of art and design."
