AN ART student from Bromley has had one of his paintings chosen for display in the National Portrait Gallery.
Ben Cohen, aged 21 of Hayes Lane, Bromley, entered a competition for the BP Portrait Award 2008 which received almost 2,000 entries from all over the world.
Ben, who is in the second year of a Fine Art degree at Loughborough University, painted a portrait of a man who works in a second hand book shop.
His painting was one of 55 portraits that will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London from June 12 to September 14.
Ben, who used to go to Hayes Secondary School, West Common Road, Hayes, said: "I am delighted my painting has been chosen.
"It's quite overwhelming and is an amazing achievement."
