Two deny £53m raid charges

A BROMLEY man has denied charges relating to the £53m raid on a Securitas depot in Tonbridge in 2006.

Michael Demetris, of Ravenleigh Court, Bromley Common, denied conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to possess a firearm at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday (May 8).

The 32-year-old is alleged to have carried out the offences with five other men who were jailed in January after being found guilty of the same charges.

He was released on conditional bail and will stand trial at the Old Bailey in October.

Paul Allen, aged 29, from Chatham, also appeared in court on Thursday via video link. He denied the same offences, and was remanded in custody.
