VOLUNTEERS are needed to help the homeless over the Christmas period.
Crisis, a charity wihch helps homeless people, needs people to help out from December 23 to December 30 .
Eight temporary centres will be set up around London to provide companionship, hot meals and advice on housing, benefits, education and healthcare.
The charity needs 5,000 volunteers to help London's homeless population of 2,000.
Their duties will include greeting and befriending guests, giving out clothing and toiletries, keeping fire watch in the sleeping areas and cleaning.
