The Glades shoppers help British Heart Foundation appeal

SHOPPERS filled up bags with unwanted items to help a charity raise thousands of pounds to help in the fight against heart disease.

The people of Bromley, which was made a British Heart Foundation (BHF) heart town last year, donated 203 bags in The Glades Great British Bag-athon event.

All the items will now be sold in BHF shops in the area and it is estimated the sales could generate £4,060 for the charity.

The Glades general manager Howard Oldstein said: “Thanks to all the Bromley community who took part.

“It really will make an enormous difference to the thousands of people in our region who suffer from heart disease.”

Being a heart town means Bromley helps to raise awareness about the fight against heart disease as well as supporting BHF’s fundraising initiatives.
