A TEENAGER whose friend died when the stolen motorbike they were riding crashed into a tree has been sentenced.

George Turner, of Berens Road, Orpington, was given a 12-month youth rehabilitation order and required to do 200 hours of unpaid work.

He was also given a three-month night time curfew.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty at Croydon Crown Court to taking/being carried on a Honda Hornet without consent, which subsequently caused the death of a person.

His friend Dean Pennial was critically injured in the crash which happened in Bournewood Road, Orpington, on April 30.

The 17-year-old died in Kings College Hospital later that day.

If I recall correctly it was Dean driving the stolen motorbike, at 17 he clearly doesnt have the brains and barely had his provisional let alone a full licence to even drive a motorbike.
And we're supposed to sympathise?

I hope this sentence knocks some sense into that poor kid that was a PASSANGER and had to witness such a horrific scene.

The way kids are dragged up these days I'm not surprised at such incidents.

Firstly my heart goes out to the young lads parents, but someone needs to make amends. I and a great number of other B.Road residents had bikes,work equipment and all manner of articules stolen from the garages at the top. My bike was the only way i could get to work on my budget, and now my family has to suffer. How about if the stolen items were left discretely at the top of the road? sold on? Pound to a penny you know EXACTLY who to. Be a real man and do whats right. Until such an act people will despise you quite rightly as the lowest form of scum, why not change that????
