Chislehurst art event draws in the crowds
THE Chislehurst Big Draw has been celebrating its ninth year of community creativity.
More than 1,000 people gathered on Chislehurst Common, off Manor Park Road to raise funds for the area and encourage people to get involved with art.
The theme for the day was Forever England and events included a puppet show, paint with a four-foot paintbrush and a teddy bear picnic.
There was also a chance to sit at King Arthur's Round Table and to meet Robin Hood and his Merry Men in Sherwood Forest.
Organiser Sarah Watkins said: "It’s a lovely opportunity to get people to try something new.
"It’s also great for children to get their hands dirty with creative activities."
The initiative was started in 2004 by six mums and a dad.
A number of organisations now contribute and sponsors include The Chislehurst Society, JDM Estate Agents and The Mills Family.
