CONCERNS over a suspicious car caused the closure of St Mary Cray station and two nearby roads last night.

Police were called to the vehicle by a concerned member of public on Tuesday evening at around 5pm.

It was parked in Faraday Way, St Mary Cray, by the Faraday Way industrial site. 

The train station was closed with trains passing through non-stop while Bromley police investigated the vehicle which contained a number of diesel containers.

Faraday Way and Station Approach were also closed.

The roads and station were reopened at 7.30pm after the car was examined and declared safe.
