A CHISLEHURST resident got the fright of her life when an air ambulance whirred overhead before landing in her front garden.

Mollie Bensaid was relaxing in her back garden eating an ice cream when a helicopter swooped in and hovered above her home in Marlings Park Avenue looking for a good landing spot .

It seems her front garden was the perfect place as the London Air Ambulance touched down at around 2.30pm on September 11.

It was responding to a call further down the street where a tree surgeon, aged 63, had fallen 70ft breaking his shoulder, pelvis and fracturing his ribs.

Mollie Bensaid said: "I am getting a big ‘H’ in the front garden so next time the air ambulance is in the neighbourhood he can come again.

"The helicopter went up over the roof of our bungalow, only just making it, and then landed in the front garden."

Ms Bensaid, who has lived at the property since 1968, with her twin sister Peggie, says she watched the machine land through the curtains because she was so scared of the rotor blades.

However, after overcoming her fear both sisters ventured outside to offer the crew a cup of tea.

"I do not think we slept that night because it was all so exciting," said the former theatre actress.

According to a London Ambulance spokesman, the crew stayed for two hours before air lifting the injured tree surgeon to Kings College Hospital, where he his recovering from his injuries.

wants a huge H in garden for future, thats not a funny joke!! looks like she wants more serious accidents down her street... didn't sleep that night due to the excitement... no more mention of the tree surgeon that fell from the tree, this article was basically all about a helicopter and a ex stage actress, what a ridiculous story

She was outside eating an ice cream, then she's inside twitching the curtains.

So much excitement in one day.

An ex stage actress, that's code for a GIs ground sheet.
