West Wickham motorbike crash police appeal after teenage rider dies

A TEENAGE motorcyclist was killed following a collision in West Wickham yesterday (September 6) afternoon.

Emergency services including one ambulance crew and the London Air Ambulance were called to Wickham Court Road at 4:52pm to reports of an incident involving a Yamaha motorcycle.

The 19-year-old rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:30pm.

Officers believe they have indentified the rider and next of kin have been informed but they await formal identification.

A post-mortem examination will take place at the Princess Royal Hospital in due course.

Officers from the collision investigation unit at Catford are leading the enquiry and are appealing for witnesses to call 020 8285 1574.
