A RARE white squirrel has become a regular visitor in a Bromley garden.

Janice Sharman, of Ullswater Close, said the unusual creature has come to her garden a few times a week over the past year.

She said: “We call him Chalky.

“He gets everywhere, he goes up the A201.

“We didn’t think he’d last long but he’s been around a while and eats anything we put down in our garden.”

There have been two other reported sightings of the white squirrel in Bromley, one in June and one last month.

White squirrels, or albino squirrels, are born with little or no pigmentation in their fur, skin or eyes, resulting in pure white fur and pink eyes.

Wildlife experts have said the chances of a squirrel being born albino are one in 100,000.

I used to see him/her regularly last Autumn on the corner of London Rd and Oaklands Road - good to see he/she is still doing fine.
