WIGS and waistcoats helped patriotic bowlers get into the Olympic spirit at their club.

The men and women of Duke of Kent Court Bowling Club dressed in red white and blue for the day to celebrate London 2012 and also because it is a jubilee year.

And captain Barry Lloyd made sure even the raffle was themed with prizes including a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine and a bottle of Blue Nun wine.

Mr Lloyd said: “When I knew I was going to be captain for the year I said let’s have a red, white and patriotic game.

“A couple of guys bought wigs and everybody got involved in the fun of the celebrations.”

Anyone interested in joining the club can go to dukeofkentcourtbowlsclub.com or visit the club at Mottingham Playing Fields, adjacent to 127 Dunkery Road, Mottingham, on Monday afternoons or Tuesday mornings.
