Elderly women hospitalised by scaffolding on building site

A 91 YEAR OLD woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by falling fencing from at a building site in Bromley yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the Walters Yard alleyway running between Sainsburys and the High Street after a barrier fell from scaffolding on to the elderly lady at around 3pm. 

The victim was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital suffering from injuries to her shoulder, hip, arm and legs.

She is due to undergo operations later in the day and her condition remains stable.

The area was cordoned off for around 10 hours.  The Health and Safety Executive are investigating.
