FIREFIGHTERS were called after a couple returned from holiday to find their basement had been flooded by the recent heavy rainfall.

Crews were called to Wickham Road, Beckenham at around 10.30pm yesterday.

The brigade described it as "partial" flooding which amounted to water levels a few inches high.

As well as ensuring there were no safety concerns, they issued advice to the couple on getting rid of the water.
