Conservatives win Bromley Town by-election

Conservatives win Bromley Town by-election
NICKY Dykes has emerged victorious as the new councillor for Bromley Town ward in yesterday’s by-election.
The result, which was announced this morning (May 4), saw the Conservative candidate pick up 2,484 of the 5,473 votes cast.
Liberal Democrat candidate Sam Webber came second with 1,137 votes and Angela Stack from the Labour Party was third with 1,051 votes.
The turnout for the by-election was 42.76 per cent compared to 66.71 per cent for the local election in 2010.
The by-election was brought about by the resignation of Conservative councillor Diana MacMull, who is leaving the area.

Owen Brolly - United Kingdom Independence Party - 397 votes
Nicky Dykes - The Conservative Party – 2,484 votes
Ann Christine Garrett - Green Party - 404 votes
Angela Stack - The Labour Party - 1,051 votes
Sam Dunning Webber - Liberal Democrats – 1,137 votes
