UPDATE: 70 homes in St Mary Cray without water after burst main
A BURST water main in St Mary Cray is causing problems as roads are closed and 70 homes are left without water.
The burst happened at the junction between Elizabeth Way and High Street.
Thames Water have turned off water in the broken pipe, which interupted supplies to 70 homes.
Elizabeth Way is closed and repairs are expected to take several days.
Two fire crews were at the scene at about 11.55 to pump away 6 inches of water which had covered 100 sq ft of road.
A spokesman for Thameswater said: "We are fixing a burst eight-inch water main at the junction of Elizabeth Way and High Street.
"The burst caused water to run down the road into the nearby River Cray.
"We have turned off water in the broken pipe. This has interrupted supplies to 70 properties. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
"We are working to fix this problem as soon as possible."
