BROMLEY police’s borough commander is ready for an ‘exciting and challenging’ year after decided to take up the post permanently.

Steph Roberts took the role in January and was only due to be on the borough until this month when another officer would have been promoted into the position.

But the 47-year-old has decided to stay on and has set 61 targets to be met for the next 12 months including reversing the rise in robbery, tackling anti-social behaviour and improve confidence and satisfaction.

The mother of two said: “It will be an exciting year and I am exceptionally pleased to be here, enthusiastic about the future of Bromley and am looking forward to the challenges ahead."
