A CLUB for the elderly African Caribbean community has been given a lesson in staying safe.
The popular Pineapple Club, which meets in Anerley Town Hall, was shown a public safety DVD produced by the Safer Bromley Partnership and Age Concern.
The DVD offers expert advice on simple measures and practical steps older people can take, both inside and outside the home, to reduce the risk of becoming victims of crime.
One of the club's members even starred in some of the dramatisations depicted.
Public protection and safety portfolio holder Councillor Tim Stevens said: "One of my priorities this year as chairman of the Safer Bromley Partnership is the safety of older and vulnerable people in the borough and this film is a novel way to bring safety messages to a wider audience."
