A NEW charity shop is opening next Thurday but it is still looking for volunteers to help run it.

Salvation Army Trading Company is opening a shop in High Street, West Wickham which will sell donated goods including clothes, accessories, bric-a-brac and household goods.

The shop is running a volunteer open day on Wednesday [Jan 18] between 10am and 4pm for anyone interested in finding out more about what is involved.

Shop manager Pascale Guenot said: “We rely heavily on the generosity of our volunteers, who are key members of the team in all our shops.

“Volunteering is a fantastic way to learn new skills or brush up on old ones and a lovely way to give something back to community you live in.

“So if you think you can spare any time at all, from a few hours to a few days a week, please do get in touch – we’d love to hear from you. You don’t need any experience, although if you do have some retail knowledge we can definitely put it to good use.”

The shop is also welcoming donations from the public, but people are asked not to bring in electrical items.

For more information on becoming a volunteer visit the West Wickham shop AT 17 High Street between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 18 January, or email volunteer@satradingco.org.
