CHILDREN’S character Noddy entertained youngsters as a singing contest was launched at the Walnuts Shopping Centre in Orpington.
Noddy, the creation of children’s author Enid Blyton, entertained the crowds as the Orpington Carol competition was launched on Friday.
Students from Orpington performing arts school Stage Coach sang to celebrate the competition, which invites schools and music groups to write their own Christmas carol, with a prize of £500.
And the fun at the centre does not stop with Noddy and carols, as the line-up of summer holiday events was announced, which includes jugglers and bouncy castles.
Shopping centre manager Martin Price said: “We’re very excited about the launch of our summer event calendar.”
