INTREPID daredevils have raised more than £10,000 for a hospice by abseiling down the tallest hospital tower in the world.
The 35 courageous souls plunged a knee-trembling 469ft down the tower at Guy’s Hospital, the 11th highest building in London, in aid of Orpington-based Harris HospisCare.
This was due to be the final descent ever to take place at the tower, but with planned refurbishments now delayed until June next year, the hospice is in the process of planning a second abseil day in April.
Fundraiser Simon Pitts said: “Knowing how quickly we filled the 35 places available this year, I would advise anyone interested to call immediately to secure their place.”
