FAKE champagne has been seized from a trader in Locksbottom.
The 10 bottles of bogus Bollinger Champagne were discovered following a tip-off by a champagne expert.
Tests on the bubbly revealed five 75cl bottles on sale at £30 each contained cheap cava while the other 1.5 litre bottles costing £79 each contained an unknown alcoholic fruit juice.
The trader’s name cannot be revealed while an investigation is being carried out.
Bromley Council’s head of trading standards Rob Vale said: “As our investigations are ongoing, we cannot comment further about the details of the case.
“This is a serious allegation, and our investigations are continuing.
“We take all reports of fake goods seriously and if anyone has suspicions about a particular product they can contact us.”
Suspected counterfeit goods should be reported to trading standards on 020 8313 4830.
