RESIDENTS learned more about their natural surroundings at a conservation event.
Wildlife and gardening enthusiasts joined in the fun at Poverest Park, Perry Hall Road, Orpington, to support the park.
Youngsters buried a bucket of beetles to help conserve the population of stag beetles.
Members from the Bromley branch of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds were also on hand to host a spot of twitching.
The event was organised by conservation group the Friends of Poverest Park.
The group's chairman Lorraine Courtenay said: "It was a great chance to make residents aware of the wildlife in the park."
