CAMPAIGNERS are urging parents to write to education bosses about their fears over the future of special needs teaching.
SEN Action urged residents to take part in the council's consultation.
The group is concerned proposed changes to special educational needs (SEN) in the borough will mean many pupils in special units being forced into mainstream classes.
The local education authority will be scrutinised closely in the coming weeks after the consultation on the future of Dorset Road Infants' School, in Mottingham, came in for criticism.
Liberal Democrat education spokesman Councillor Denise Payton has already said the proposals could be a "costly mistake".
She added: "These proposals take no account of the many children with needs already in mainstream classes."
