A POLICE officer has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Bromley while on duty.
The alleged incident took place on September 19 after the woman called 999 over a drunken row with her boyfriend, it was reported.
The PC, who is in his 30s, was taken to a south London police station.
He has been suspended pending an investigation by the Directorate of Professional Standards.
A national newspaper reported that the woman, in her 20s, was left alone with the officer in her flat after his colleagues arrested her boyfriend for allegedly assaulting her.
The Met Police have confirmed the officer was arrested over the rape allegation. He has been bailed until early November while inquiries continue.
