DISABLED children, many visually impaired and deaf, will now be able to enjoy a special sensory garden thanks to a bank’s generosity.

Pupils and staff at Coney Hall School, Hayes, recently celebrated the completion of the garden, built in their grounds thanks to a special fund run by the HSBC.

Staff from the bank built the garden, which includes aromatic plants, water features and wind chimes, over a two-week period, to provide a natural experience for those with sensory impairment.

Christopher Dean, bursar at the Croydon Road school, said: “We’re grateful for the garden — it has a great ambience which children, and staff, will benefit from greatly.”
