SPORTS clubs are celebrating after being awarded National Lottery cash.
Orpington Nomads Women's Cricket Club was handed £2,695 by the Awards for All scheme, while Hayes Primary School, George Lane, Hayes, was awarded £9,951 to help it run a series of basketball clubs.
Other schools in the area to receive grants included Southborough Primary School, Southborough Lane, Bromley, which received £10,000 for its sports and basketball coaching project.
Biggin Hill Primary School, in Old Tye Avenue, was also given £9,583 for a basketball initiative.
Awards for All is organised by the Big Lottery Fund and gives out grants of between £300 and £10,000.
Debbie Pippard, spokesman for the Big Lottery Fund, said: "Nomads are a team with every chance of living up to its proud past with the help of Lottery funding and it can do so much for London's future sports stars."
